Our Harvest Festival

We had a wonderful time today performing out Harvest Festival performance to parents and the rest of the school. It was interesting to hear how different countries celebrate Harvest and we learnt a lot about how it is celebrated in Argentina.

A huge well done to all of the children that participated and thank you to the parents that could come along and those who sent food in as contributions.

We hope you all have a lovely, safe and joy filled break.

Making a Greek salad

The children really enjoyed making a Greek salad, despite some declaring their dislike for some of the ingredients! They peeled and deseeded, chopped and sliced, using cucumber, tomatoes, onions, black olives, feta cheese and olive oil. They all tried it, and the feedback was very positive!

Why don’t you try it at home?

Drama with SPLATS!

We have had a fabulous time this week working with the Splats Drama company, creating our Ancient Olympic Show! We worked on preparing props, researching different Olympic athletes, learning our lines and performing in front of an audience. Both Year 4 and Year 5 used their initiative, creativity and energy to bring the performances alive. There was a lot to learn and remember but the performances were delivered fantastically with lots of laughs!

Portraits and funny faces…

In Art, we have been looking at faces: our own, our peers and imaginary ones! We began with our ‘funny faces’ which we made out of clay:

Then we used a photo of ourselves to draw a pop-art self-portrait using laminate sheets and sharpies:

Our third art activity around the theme of faces was to create a portrait study of our partner in our sketch pads:

Can you spot anyone you recognise?
